Dear Members of the Junior Class and Parents and Guardians:

Beverly High School will offer a PSAT testing session for all members of the junior class (Class of 2022) on Tuesday, January 26 during the school day. The PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The PSAT is a great primer for the SAT, and PSAT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships.  Student participation in this test is not required, but is recommended for students who intend to take the SAT test later in their high school career.  Students may only take the PSAT once, and this is the only date available for the 2020-2021 school year.  The cost of the exam is $18.

Students will use the morning session at BHS to take the PSAT and will be dismissed at 11:50 unless a student needs extended time on the exam.   Students in the 9th, 10th and 12th grades will be attending their morning classes remotely on that day. Further details about the schedule for the day will be sent out to BHS community members soon.

Students who wish to take the PSAT must complete the registration form linked below. In addition, a fee of $18 should be paid to the guidance office by December 2 either in cash or by check, attention to Sharon Dowdell or Lori Quill.   Checks should be made out to Beverly High School and include the following notation in the check memo- PSAT/ Student Name.

Students who need accommodations for the test should indicate on the form and contact their guidance counselor for details.  The deadline for PSAT registration is Wednesday, December 2 by 2:00 pm.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the student’s guidance counselor.
