There are two local organizations that would be more than happy to take the things you no longer use off your hands and put them into the hands of those who will use them.
The Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop accepts new or gently used, in season clothes, as well as accessories, footwear, linens, jewelry, housewares, décor and furniture. The Thrift Shop supports the many programs and services Bootstraps offers those in need in Beverly and Manchester. So, while they appreciate all donations, it will take away from their mission to dispose of any that are not in re-sellable condition.
However, the Beverly Public Schools will take fabric items in any condition (as long as they're clean and dry), including clothing, accessories, footwear, linens and stuffed animals. The money raised from recycling these items goes directly to the schools to support local children's education. It also saves the city money in disposing of these items in the trash, as well as being good for the environment.
By separating your items and dropping them at the appropriate place, you can support both of these wonderful organizations. The Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop is located at 198 Rantoul Street and the recycling bins are located on the grounds of each Beverly Public School.
