The Process

1.

Using a recent test or assignment, evaluate your study weaknesses using the "What Have I Learned" questionnaire (Click here)

2.

Search through the websites listed in this quest for helpful hints and strategies to address the weaknesses you identified in the survey.

3.

Complete the Website evaluation form (Click Here)

4.

Use the information you have found to create a poster, note card, song, or rhyme.

5.

Share your project with a teacher. The idea here is to find ways to study that work for you and create some way of sharing that information so others may benefit.  A poster hung in a classroom is one way to do this, a notebook with pictures of each strategy is another, a poem or song to represent the strategy are also ways to share.

6.

Retake the "What Have I Learned" (Click here) survey and evaluate effectiveness of strategy.  Did it work? If yes, congratulations!  If it did not work, go back to step 2

7.

Take the Student Academic Success Inventory questionnaire (Click here)

Describe to the learners how their performance will be evaluated. You can link to a separate rubric document from here, or you could briefly summarize your criteria on this page. Also specify whether there will be a common grade for group work vs. individual grades. Make sure the evaluation of your students evaluates the accomplishment of the objectives listed in the lesson.

Conclusion

You have now taken the second step in taking control of your life and your future.  On your journey through self realization you have identified strengths and weaknesses and become pro-active in building on your strengths and accommodating your weaknesses.  How can you share your knowledge? How can this knowledge make you a more successful person? Use the information you have gathered and make a booklet for future reference, or to share with classmates or teachers. You can put your favorite study and learning strategies together and create your own website.
