This WebQuest addresses the following Science frameworks for the 9th and 10th grades:

Domains of Science: Life Sciences 9-10 
 
Explain how biotic and abiotic factors cycle in an ecosystem (water, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen)
Use a food web to identify the distinguish producers, consumers, and decomposers, and explain the transfer of energy through trophic levels.
Identify the factors in an ecosystem that influences fluctuations in population size.
Analyze changes in an ecosystem resulting from natural causes, changes in climate, human activity, or introduction of non-native species.
Explain how symbiotic behavior produces interactions within ecosystems.

 
This WebQuest addresses the following English and Language Arts frameworks for the 9th and 10th grades:

English Language Arts Composition 9-10 
Use self-generated questions, note-taking, summarizing, precise writing, and outlining to enhance learning when reading or writing. Use their own questions, notes, summaries, and outlines to deepen learning across disciplinary areas. 3 7 1
Use open-ended research questions, different sources of information, and appropriate research methods to gather information for their research projects. Individually formulate open-ended questions to explore a topic of interest and then design appropriate methodology, form, and way to document sources for a report of their research. 3 7 1
