Introduction

Who were these Greek Geeks that ruled the lives of the ancient Greeks? Who were the major players among the Greek gods? What realms did they rule in the heavens? What were their powers in heaven and on earth? It's up to you to find the answers.

 

 

The Task

Your task is to discover the many different roles played by the 12 major Greek Gods. You should focus on the gods who lived on Mount Olympus and the realms they ruled. Each person should choose one god. You must turn in a non-paper report that explores the character of your chosen god and the powers that god wields in the mortal realm as well as on Mount Olympus.

The Process

 

  1. Each student will pick a Greek God from Mount Olympus
  2. Each will then explore the supplied web sites listed in the resource section to gather information.
  3. All the sites must be explored so that all the pertinent information can be collected on each God

4. A chart showing the relationship of your chosen God to the other Gods

must be included

5.A picture of the chosen God should be included in your presentation

 

 

 

Evaluation

Your project will be evaluated on the completeness of your research and on the quality of your presentation. The grade will depend on how wisely you use the web pages provided and the information contained therein. Your presentation of this material in a clear and informative manner will also be taken into consideration

1. RESEARCH AND USE OF WEB PAGES 50% OF GRADE

2. PRESENTATION OF MATERIAL TO CLASS 25% OF GRADE

3. OVERALL QUALITY OF PRESENTATION 25% OF GRADE


Conclusion

When you have completed this Web Quest, you will have gained a better understanding of the relationships between the major Greek Gods. You will also gain specific knowledge on one chosen Greek God.
